Bill was born June 28, 1949 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of Robert and Marguerite Muse. He first married Connie Muse who preceded him in death. He later married Jaynie Muse on June 16, 2001 and she survives.

Bill was a 1967 graduate of Valley Forge High School. He graduated with his BS in Education from Bowling Green in 1971 and graduated with his Master's in Education in 1992 from Ohio University. In 1971, Bill started working at West Holmes Junior High, retiring in 2001. He taught Physical Education for 5 years, then taught Science for the remainder of his career. He was a football, wrestling and track coach all at West Holmes Junior High. After retirement he was a courier for the Killbuck Savings Bank for many years and worked the gatehouse at Lake Buckhorn. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason, a past master of the Spartan Masonic Lodge in Millersburg where he was secretary for many years and was also a member of Fire Ridge Golf Course.  Bill was the club champion at Fire Ridge Golf Course and won the Knox County open in 2004. He attended the Indy 500 for 26 plus years. Bill enjoyed the sun and the sand in Hawaii, Myrtle Beach and Gulf Shores.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jaynie are children: Jeremy (Lacresha) Shepler and Curt (Muriah) Shepler; grandchildren: Brenton, Jaera, Timothy, Rylee and Carson; his loving brother-in-law, Mike (Jill) Galbraith; loving sister-in-law, Julie (Jeff) Allison; and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and considered his own.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Connie Muse; and  his brother, Dan Muse.

One of Bill's favorite quotes was from the author Ray Bradbury, who wrote this in his novel Fahrenheit 451: "Everyone must leave something behind when he dies. It doesn't matter what you do, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it, into something that's like you after you take your hands away."
