Bud was born January 25th, 1931 in Elyria, Ohio and was the son of Robert S. and Neva M. (Shearer) Miller. On November 28, 1950 he married Jean Smith and they had four daughters.
Bud moved to Holmes County in 1938 when he was 8 years old and started working the family farm. He and his wife purchased the farm from his parents in 1965. He was a farmer his whole life. In 2019, the farm was put in a farmland conservation easement under stewardship of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy, which preserves the farm in perpetuity. His last wishes were fulfilled, it is now his forever farm.
Bud was a Knox Township trustee in Holmes County for 10 years. He was a member of the Nashville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners bonding with family and friends; a Miller family tradition. Bringing family together for Sunday dinner will continue to be a family tradition that will bring strength, peace and comfort.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jean are 3 children, Kelly J. (Darryl) Woods of Glenmont, Julia A. Miller (James Miller) of Columbus and Linda S. Miller of Lakeville; six grandchildren, Jesse R. (Mandy) Mast, Adrian H. (Beth) Woods, Morgan M. (Shea) Woods, Frances K. (Jeff) Mast - Hopkins, Miles M. (Julia Sivertson) Liebtag and Rae Jean (Greg) Liebtag; and 3 great-grandchildren, Emily E. Mast, Everett L. Mast and Marin P. Liebtag.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pamela J. Miller-Liebtag; his sister, Patricia A. Stitzlein; and his brother, Thomas R. Miller.
