Vic Snyder, age 93, of Millersburg, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio following a period of declining health.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 3rd at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Burial will take place in Killbuck Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Vic was born July 7, 1929 in Holmes County Ohio and was the son of John and Violetta (Hawkins) Snyder. On September 20, 1949 he married Mosella Wengerd and she preceded him in death on June 1, 2019.
Vic was a 1948 graduate of Killbuck High School where he was valedictorian of his class of 20 students. He hauled steel for 28 years and was the owner and operator of a retail oil business, Vic Snyder Oil until the age of 91. Vic was a self-proclaimed inventor. He enjoyed trying to improve things.
He is survived by four children: Dwight R. Snyder of Dublin, Eric (Pennie) Snyder of Shreve, Brent (Barb) Snyder of Killbuck, and Craig Snyder of Millersburg; son-in-law, Tom Borgerding of Westerville; 26 grandchildren: Alyson Helwagen, Andrew (Heather) Borgerding, Alexander (Dalia Gomez) Borgerding, Ann (Jess) Goldfarb, Jason E. (Stacy) Snyder, Emily E. Stettler, Rachel Snyder, Jeremiah (Jen) Snyder, Justin Snyder, Erica (Jonas) Ramos, Connie (Chris) Ansell, Melinda Aley, Benjamin Aley, Jeremiah Aley, Tiffany (Jeremy) McCurdy, Ashlee (Brett) Uhrin, Hannah (James Cotton) Snyder-Cotton, Judah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Ben (Schuyler) Snyder, Amanda (John) Miller, Gabe Snyder, Sarah Snyder, Melissa Snyder, David Snyder, and Kristina Snyder; great-grandchildren: Alexandra Helwagen, Jakob, Callen, Evelyn and twins, Vivienne and Elia Borgerding, Charlisse Goldfarb, Ty H. and Camryn Snyder, Victor, Hazel and Sylvia Stettler, James and Haley Theado, Evan, Kailyn, and Allie Snyder, Vera Ramos, Cameron Ansell, Ethan and Tanner Aley, Emily, Raychel, Alexis, Autumn and Hunter McCurdy, Carter Uhrin, Veronica, Vallory, Vaughn and Vannah Snyder-Cotton, Liliana and Jolene Miller, Isabelle Jackson, Keirra Snyder, Alyssa Fry and Adrian Snyder; and a great great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by a sister, Julia Gray; a brother, Harold George Snyder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Vic was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Jane Bunting; three brothers: John Jr., Darwin "Darb" and Winston Snyder; his wife, Mosella; a son, Victor Snyder Jr.; a daughter, Victoria Borgerding; and a grandson, Chad Gray.
