Vernon Ray Wilson, 57, died at Sycamore Run Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, March 21st following a period of declining health. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. His ashes will be buried next to his Grandmother Martha A Wilson's grave at Paw Paw Cemetery located outside Germantown, Ohio at a private family gathering in late spring, early summer.
Vernon was born on April 18, 1962 in Barnesville, Ohio to Chester John Wilson and Joan Wilson. He was a graduate of West Holmes High School and Kent State University. He had worked for the Holmes County Sheriff Department for many years and also for Holmes Lumber as a computer technician. He loved ham radios and computers and sharing the Gospel with anyone who would listen.
He is survived by his mother Joan Wilson of Williamstown, West Virginia, brothers Chester Wilson and Lloyd (Kim) Wilson of Marietta, Ohio, sister Carol Ames of Williamstown, West Virginia, half-brother John (Jennifer) Wilson of Moreland, Ohio, half-sister Cathy Wilson of Millersburg, daughter Veronica Allen and one grandson Troy Allen of Canton, nieces, nephews, cousins and several good friends.
He was proceeded in death by his father, grandparents and two close uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alexander Funeral Home to help pay expenses.
