Sylvia Shaffer age 88, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away January 2, 2024, at her home following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday January 8th at Alexander Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Killbuck Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.

Syliva was born December 5, 1935, in Dresden, Ohio and was the daughter of Renard and Dorothy (Lacy) Norman.  On October 18, 1957, she married Doyle Shaffer, and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2023.  Syliva enjoyed family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren and always made sure to have cookies for her great grandchildren.  She was a member of Millersburg Christian Church.

Sylvia is survived by her two children: Julia (Allen) Fox of Millersburg and Brant (Tammy) Shaffer of Millersburg; five grandchildren: Derrick (Karissa) Fox, Kristina Fox, Nathan (Danielle) Shaffer, Stephanie (Brian) Yoder and Nick (Ashley) Gerber; 7 great-grandchildren: Ridge Fox, Daniel Romig, Lily Yoder, Aurora Yoder, Daphne Yoder, William Gerber, and Genevieve Shaffer.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ann Tinlin and Martha Schonauer.
