Susan Kay Miller, age 79, of Holmesville, Ohio was reunited with her family when she went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, Ohio following an extended illness. 

Private graveside services will be held at Prairie Township Cemetery, Holmesville, Ohio with Jackie Lewis officiating. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Crossroads Hospice or to Altercare Majora Lane's Activities Department or even donating monetary items like clothing or packages for the residence care.

Susan was born September 21, 1944 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Milo and Helen (Christopher) Miller. She was a 1962 graduate of Waynedale High School. Susan was a notary public for a number of years. She began her career as a legal secretary at the Holmes County courthouse under Judge Estill. She worked 20 years at Stone Law Office of Wooster and was a cashier and greeter at Walmart of Millersburg.

When Susan was young she enjoyed traveling, especially her vacation in Hawaii and spending time with her friends and family. She always looked forward to family gatherings and vacations. Even if it was a simple picnic in a park. She was an avid animal lover, rescuing many cats over her lifetime. Loving them and making sure they were all well taken care of and at times sacrificing her own needs over theirs. Susan had a big heart for people and animals. 

She is survived by two nephews and one niece: Stephen (Dana) Phillips of Holmesville, Ohio, Tim Vicars of Monroe Falls, Ohio and Peggy Vicars Davis of Cave Creek, Arizona; eight great nieces and nephews; 17 great-great nieces and nephews; and 8 great-great great nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and their spouses: Virginia ("Red" Paul) Phillips and Lucy (Jim) Vicars; two nephews: Denny and Keith Phillips; a great nephew, Brian "Petey" Phillips; and a great niece, Kristen Nichols.
