Shirley J. Roberts, age 82, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, Ohio following a period of declining health.

 

A private family service will take place at a later date. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. 

 

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to the Holmes County Dog Warden, capital improvement fund, 5387 County Road 349, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.

Shirley was born April 8th, 1941 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Hallis and Edna Mae (Armstrong) Hostutler. 

 

Shirley was raised on a farm in Holmes County and was a resident of Holmes County all her life. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1959. She worked at the flxible company in Millersburg. She then began her 26th year career at Commercial and Savings Bank where she retired as compliance officer. She was a member of the Millersburg Christian Church. Shirley enjoyed traveling with her sisters around the world, watching her children and grandchildren and their various sporting events and then as they all became adults, she took pride in their many career accomplishments. She loved her flower garden and a good morel mushroom meal.

 

She is survived by two sons and their spouses: David (Anita) Hall and Don (Jonna) Hall; and grandchildren: Kyle (Erin) Hall, Kim Hall (Brock Duncan), Nathan (Samantha) Hall and Samantha Hall. She is also survived by two brothers: Grant Hostutler of Columbus, Ohio and Paul Hostutler of Washington, Illinois and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Lola Yoder, Viola Fink, Ginny Pappas and Madge Hostutler.

 

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at both Majora Lane and Pomerene Hospital for the excellent care given to their mother. You all went above and beyond.
