Shannon Kay Casteel, age 42, of Newark, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at her home. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 42859 County Road 19, Coshocton, OH.

Shannon was born November 9, 1982 in Cambridge, Ohio and was the daughter of James Matthew Clarke and Donna J. (Buren) and David Robert Biszantz.

Shannon was a 2001 graduate of West Holmes High School and completed the OSU cosmetology program and also their medical physician assistance program. She enjoyed hiking, taking pictures of sunsets and being with  family. She loved spontaneous trips South and spending time on the beach.

She is survived by children: Hoyt Shepler and Ian Casteel both of Newark and Bryce Casteel and Alex Casteel, both of Franklin County. She is also survived by her parents; siblings: Wendy Haga of Uhrichsville, Gina Clarke (fiance, Bill Berger) of Newcomerstown, Matthew Clarke of Newcomerstown and Chris (Anna) Biszantz of Waldport, Oregon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her sisters by heart, Heather Patterson and Lacey Borrman.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Betty "Grandma Nan" Buren, her aunt, Debbie Lowe; and a great nephew, Conner Reese.
