Scott A. Kashuba Obituary

Scott A. Kashuba, age 59 of Killbuck, Ohio was killed on August 19, 2024 in a traffic accident while on a cross country motorcycle trip.

 

He was born in Massillon, Ohio on May 11, 1965 to Stan and Kathy Kashuba. Scott graduated from Fairless High School in Navarre in 1983 after participating in football and wrestling. He received his Associate degree from Stark State Technical College where he met his wife, Josie Menuez. They were married June 3, 1989. She survives. 

 

Scott served with the US Army Reserves 361st MP company and was deployed overseas during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. 

 

In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by five children: Andrew (Mariah) Kashuba, Rachel Kashuba (Andy), Amanda Kashuba (Colston), Michael Kashuba (Jewelia) and Becca Kashuba. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments and he loved being Papa to his grandchildren: Greyson and Carter Smith and Macie Kashuba. He leaves behind his brother Allan, parents, special aunt Lana, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be missed. 

 

Scott worked for the State of Ohio as an Energy Research Analyst. He served with Killbuck Township Fire and Emergency Services for 22 years. The last seven years as Chief and was a fire inspector and class instructor. He was passionate about his job and wanted to instill the love of firefighting in others. He considered the members of the department his friends and family.

 

Scott restarted the Killbuck Boy Scout Troop 315 and was Scoutmaster for many years, leading and encouraging many young men to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. 

 

Scott enjoyed vegetable gardening, being the "official time clock guy" for West Holmes Wrestling, family vacations to the beach, taking care of his chickens (he referred to as "the girls"), his lap dog that he swore he never wanted, Miles, drinking diet Sunkist zero and riding his beloved Harley. 

 

He was always quick to help anyone in need, despite his gruff demeanor he had a heart of gold. 

 

Funeral services will be held, 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25th at the Expo building at Harvest Ridge, 8880 State Route 39, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Dave Clemens officiating. Burial will take place at Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck, Ohio where military honors will be conducted by both the Killbuck VFW and the Millersburg American Legion.
