Ryan Small Obituary

Ryan Small, a beloved son, grandson, father, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend, passed away Tuesday, August 27th unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born with a boundless zest for life, Ryan was the kind of person who could light up any room with his infectious energy and genuine warmth. He never met a stranger, and if you were fortunate enough to know him, you couldn’t help but love him.

Ryan was a man who loved deeply. He adored his circle of friends and family, especially his daughter, Max Small (12), and son, Collin Badger (16), who were the light of his life. His stubbornness was legendary among those who knew him well, but it was part of what made him so endearing—he was fiercely loyal, unconditionally loving, and always there for those he cared about.

Friends and family alike have shared countless stories that paint a picture of a man who lived life to the fullest. Ryan was the life of the party; his Chris Farley impression always had everyone in stitches. His spirit was always one of fun and spontaneity. Ryan was the kind of friend who could make any situation better simply by being there.

Ryan had a deep love for music.  His father, Todd, taught him to play the drums, and boy, was he a natural! His performances were a highlight, and his family took great pride in watching him play. Those who were fortunate enough to see him perform knew just how special those moments were.

Ryan always could touch the lives of those around him, offering words of encouragement and support, even as he faced his own challenges. All who knew him will remember his wisdom, kindness, and humor.

Surviving are his children, Cambria (Max) Small and Collin Badger; father, Todd Small, and stepmother, Patricia Small; brother, Tyler (Natalie) Small; nephews, Christian and Phillip; and nieces, Elliemarie and Marylee Small. He is also survived by his grandfather, Charles Mulhall; Uncle Tim (Kelly) Small; Aunt Tara Wolfe; Aunt Jackie (Corry) Marett; and Uncle John Mulhall.

Ryan was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Small, and his grandmother, Doris Mulhall.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, September 1st, at Ripley Church of Christ from 1:30 to 3:30, followed by a service from 3:30 to 4:30. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at The Commercial & Savings Bank for the benefit of Cambria "Max" Small and Collin Badger.
