Roman J. Miller

Roman J. Miller, 94, of Walnut Creek, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Walnut Hills Nursing Home surrounded by family.

Roman was born in Walnut Creek on Sept. 21, 1927 to the late John JB Miller and Faronica "Fannie" Mullet. He married Arlene Miller on June 22, 1950; she preceded him in death Oct. 4, 2015.  

Roman was a self employed truck driver all of his life and after retirement he would haul Amish. He was a true outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. Traveling with his wife was something that he also loved; taking a trip to Alaska and frequenting Florida where he could cast his pole into the gulf, but most of all he loved just visiting with his family. 

He is survived by his children, Barbara (Bill) Troyer of Danville, Kevin (Ethel) Miller of Benton, Galen (Karen) Miller of Hartville, Malcolm (Sandy) Miller of Trail, and Maureen (Mick) Stebelton of Fredericksburg, 14 grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Jacob, Melvin, and Wayne (Ann) Miller; 2 sisters, Malinda Ickes, and Ann (Monroe) Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, a great grandson; and 3 brothers, Dan F. Miller, Marvin J. Miller, and John Henry Miller. 

Family and friends may call Sunday, Sep. 25 from 5:00-8:00pm at Martin's Creek Mennonite Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Monday, also at the church, with Pastor Jay Conn officiating, a meal and time of fellowship will follow. Private family burial will occur prior to Monday's service in Martin's Creek Church Cemetery. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to LifeCare Hospice and the staff at Walnut Hills Nursing Home for the wonderful and compassionate care Roman received during his stay.
