Ricky Dean Miller, age 52 of Millersburg passed away unexpectedly Friday, August 11th, 2023.
Rick was born September 22nd, 1970, in Millersburg and was the son of Ruby Tish-Miller. On August 5th, 1995, he married Carrie (Chanay) McCluggage, she survives.
Rick attended West Holmes High School and Ashland County JVS. He was a former member of the Millersburg Police Auxiliary and the Fire Department at District 1 & Killbuck. He was currently an employee of Kingsway, a company he thoroughly enjoyed being a part of. Rick spent many years as a coach/umpire for youth baseball, Cobra football and youth bowling. He was also a Cub Scout leader. Rick enjoyed watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ohio State vs Michigan football rivalry with his kids, Sunday golf with his brother and son and bowling with his friends. He enjoyed weekly dirt track racing with his family. He enjoyed his weekends at the campground, surrounded by Hank Williams Sr. and an occasional Spice Girls dance session. Most of all, Rick loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 28 years are his two children; Anthony (Jessica) Miller, Rebecca (Allen) Ogle, two stepchildren who he loved dearly from a young age, Linda (Robert) Bickel, Michael (Stephanie) McCluggage; grandchildren; Adalynn, Madalynn, Rhett and Beau Miller, Bennett Ogle, Hayleigh and Dyllan Bender, Ariel Bickel, Garret and Weston McCluggage; great grandchildren; Asten Whitney and Carson Maki; siblings Tom (Allison Spillman) Miller, Shelley Wright, Taylor (Dustin) Bales and Kami (Brian) Wolford; several much loved nieces and nephews and many special friends.
Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Miller, sisters Holly Brown and Nancy Norris and a special father figure, Rodney Tish.
Rick was a funny guy that showed us over the years the importance of family. He taught us how to love unconditionally. He taught us patience and forgiveness. He taught his grandchildren that superheroes are real, as he was theirs. Psalms 23:4.
Friends may call Monday, August 21st from 4-7 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 22nd at Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Killbuck Cemetery.
