Richard "Dick" Oliver Treap, age 77, passed away in the early morning of October 5, 2022 at Majora Lane Care Center.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 25, 1945 to George and Eileen (Scott) Treap. He was raised on a farm in Glenmont, Ohio on Jericho road. He graduated from Danville High School in 1965. He joined the Air Force soon after and was stationed in Texas and Michigan. While at Selfridge AFB he met Linda Mallory at a USO dance and they went on to get married on November 11, 1967.
After leaving the service in 1969 he was employed by Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan and worked there for 30 years.
Richard's hobbies were many, but his favorites were hunting, collecting scrap metal and stripping wires to collect the copper. He lived in a house divided! He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan in a house full of Michigan Wolverines fans. His family would like to shout "Go Blue" just one more time.
He loved watching westerns, Alaska Frontier and Mountain Men. His favorite was John Wayne in all of his different movies. He enjoyed reading Louis Lamour westerns and the Bible.
He is survived by his wife Linda of 55 years; his two daughters: Marjorie Eileen Treap and Amy Rachel Treap; his three sisters: Sharon (Jim) Exler of Nampa, Idaho, Pamela (Francis) Nash of Grayson, Kentucky and Marie (Tom) White of Loudonville; and two brothers: Steve (Debbie) Treap of Pineville, Kentucky and Patrick (Patricia) Treap of Asheville, North Carolina. He also leaves behind aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Mitchell and Daniel Treap.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Clifford Beck officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
