Ralph Akers Sr. age 78 passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 at Majora Lane Care Center, Millersburg, Ohio. 

 

Ralph was born January 19th, 1947 in Pikeville, Kentucky and was the son of Alvis and Dixie (Rogers) Akers. He lived most of his life in Millersburg and spent 20 years in Florida. He married Bonnie Priest, and she preceded him in death on September 6, 1996. 

 

Ralph worked in the oil fields and also transported Amish for many years. He enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. 

 

He is survived by two children: Ralph Jr. (Punkie) Akers of Killbuck and Dixie (Rick) Benard of Millersburg; his grandson, Hunter Akers of Killbuck; a great grandson, Phinehas Ormesher; nine siblings: William "Bill" Akers of Peebles, Ohio, Mary Howell of Shreve, Frank Akers of West Salem, Carol Rose of Wooster, Marcella Akers of Shreve, Virginia Woosley of Kentucky, John Akers of Wooster, Sharon Duncan of Danville and Ruth Bartram of Orrville; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings: Betty Justice and Alvis "Buck" Akers Jr.; and his two beautiful granddaughters: Micala Akers and Taylor Ormesher.

 

A private graveside service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve, Ohio. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 31st, at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Online condolences can be made by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.
