Paul Daniel "Dan" Smith, age 68, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away April 11th, 2026 in Dauphin Island, Alabama doing what he loved.

He was born May 23rd, 1957 in Orrville, Ohio and was the son of Kathleen Strickler and Paul Smith. 

Dan is survived by his wife, JoAnn, who he married November 12th, 1983.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are his two sons: Justin (Sasha) Smith of Millersburg, Ohio and Nile (Jessica) Smith of Trafalgar, Indiana; and grandchildren: Chaylee, River, Ruby, and Conrad who he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by siblings: Denise (Bob) Pendlebury of Millersburg, Ohio, Melanie Raymond of Wooster, Ohio, Doug Smith of Edon, Ohio, Sam Smith of Raleigh, North Carolina and Verna Valdez of Apple Creek, Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dan first worked for Halliburton in Wooster as a Pump Truck driver, he then worked 25 years at Gerstenslager's in Wooster as a Die Setter Supervisor and later worked as a Quality Inspector for Kimball Electronics in Indianapolis. He was an avid Ohio State, Browns and Guardians (formerly known as the Indians) fan. Dan loved his Long Lake Campground family. He loved life and he loved his family. He coached his sons baseball teams and was always there to support his sons and grandkids in all they did. 

A Celebration of Life service will begin 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9th at Northside Church, Millersburg, Ohio with pastor Dan Wigton officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and refreshments following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Northside Church of Millersburg, 1207 Wooster Road, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.
