Norma Shinabarker, age 96, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at her home following a brief illness.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, September 30th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Ed Stivers officiating. Burial will take place in Nashville Cemetery, Nashville, Ohio. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Norma was born April 1, 1928 in Holmes County, Ohio and was the daughter of Lewis and Irene (Whiteus) Martin. On May 1, 1948 she married Earl Shinabarker and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2014. 

 

Norma was a 1946 graduate of Glenmont High School. She worked 40 plus years at Rice-Chadwick Rubber Company in Killbuck. She was a member of the Glenmont Church of Christ, the Seven Hills Garden Club, Women's County Fellowship and sang with the Sweet Adelines. Norma enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and loved spending time with her family.

 

She is survived by her son-in-law, Richard E. McCune of Glenmont; two grandchildren: Sean McCune of Glenmont and Shannon (Onome) Oroh of Toledo; three great-grandchildren: Kaden and Alexis McCune and Arianna Oroh; and two siblings: Marion (Noreen) Martin of Killbuck and Barb Chanay of Millersburg. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl; her daughter, Linda McCune; siblings: Dorothy (William "Red") Turner, Wilma (Nicolas) Cannoe, William "Bill" (Evelyn) Martin, Ruth Ann (Dale) Dininger and Bonnie (Marion "Tink") Martin; a brother-in-law, Ron Chanay.
