Michael Hannahs Obituary


Michael J. "Mike" Hannahs, age 60, of Amherst, Ohio and formerly of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer.


Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, September 3rd at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Jeff Lashley officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mike was born July 26, 1960 in Barnesville, Ohio and was the son of Roy Keith and Sarah Juanita (Kupfer) Hannahs. On February 14, 1981 he married Lucinda "Cindi" Carpenter, she survives.


Mike was a 1978 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School in Old Washington, Ohio. He previously worked for SEMAC Industries in Millersburg, Walmarts in both Millersburg and Oberlin, Ohio and for Rhino Bedrooms of Killbuck. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, camping, watching wildlife and driving the back Country roads of Holmes County. He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid Nascar fan and loved his special pup, Annie Belle.


Surviving in addition to his wife, Cindi are three sons and their spouses, Tobey (Regan) Carpenter of Amherst, Ohio, Keith (Amber) Hannahs of Vero Beach, Florida and James "Jay" (Shannon) Hannahs of Parma, Ohio; Dan (Tessa) Michaels of Wooster, Ohio whom he considered his son; six grandchildren, Clay, Braden and Peytan Carpenter and Story, Moxie and Orion Hannahs; siblings, Sue Landon of Killbuck, Ohio, Ronnie Hannahs of Barnesville, Ohio, Pam (Bob) Gates of Granbury, Texas and Danny Ray Hannahs of Cambridge, Ohio; in-laws, George (Linda) Carpenter of New Port Ritchey, Florida and Vicki (Kelly) Curren of Millersburg, Ohio; his step mother-in-law, Bonnie Carpenter of Wooster, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jim, Harry and Rick "Bill" Hannahs; infant brother, Eugene Hannahs; father-in-law, Archie Carpenter; and mother-in-law, Birdie Carpenter.
