Melvin Crider Obituary

Melvin Crider, 86 of Millersburg, passed away December 21.18, after a short period of declining health, with family by his side.  Melvin was born March 2, 1932 in Killbuck, Ohio to the late Samuel and Ethel (White) Crider.  He married Clara E. Ames on August 16, 1952.

He worked as a carpenter for the Gerstenslager Co. for 46 years.  He was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoyed tinkering on any type of motor vehicle, and being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren.   

Surviving is his wife Clara, daughters Sheila (Rene) Wengerd, Shelley (Mark) Marini, and son Bill (Cathy) Crider.  Grandchildren Staci Lecky, Holly Luzader, Korrina Thomas, Corey Crider, Allyson Crider, and Anthony Marini.  Great Grandchildren, Keaton Coblentz, Kaili Coblentz, McKailla Parsons, Ryleigh Zickefoose, Niyah Lecky, and his sister Bessie Purdy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Alvin, Walter, Ralph, Calvin, Robert, and Kenny Crider, and his sister Alice Hall.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio.  Burial will be at Wolfcreek/Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be two hours prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home.
