Melva Rohr, 87, of Holmesville, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Wooster Community Hospital, surrounded by her family following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday January 4, 2025, at Ripley Church of Christ, 12298 County Hwy 330, Big Prairie, Ohio, 44611. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church. A light meal will follow the services at The Life Center 189 N Clay St Millersburg, Ohio. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Melva was born March 31, 1937, in Massillon, Ohio, and was the daughter of Bert and Roxie (Gadd) Day. On August 18, 1956, she married James C. Rohr, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2018. She retired from the Wooster Post Office, after more than 35 years of service. Melva was an avid gardener and a member of her local garden club.

Melva is survived by her children, Christopher (Jody) Rohr of Millersburg, Elizabeth Rohr of Holmesville, Timothy J. (Evelyn) Rohr of Millersburg, Virginia Wilcox of Northfield, Anita (Douglas) Craycraft of Holmesville, Noelle Rohr of California; grandchildren Jessica (Phil Apel) Rohr, Rebecca (Ben Delano) Rohr, Brandon Saunders, Rachel (John) Embree, Chase Saunders, Spenser Saunders, Forrest Saunders, Jesse Saunders, Madeline Saunders, Renee (Josh Frydrychowski) Rohr, Matthew  Rohr, Marcus (Kallie) Rohr, Jarrod (Abbey) Rich, Ian (Amanda) Wilcox, Cole Wilcox, Tiffany (Joshua) Stutzman, Jennifer (Zach) Kaiser, Katelyn (Jack) Zimmerly; eleven great grandchildren; and sisters Sharon Koci and Diane (Ron) Bryant both of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brother-in-law James Koci.
