Millersburg - Mary Hipp, 69, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, May 5, 2023. She was born in Millersburg, Ohio, October 29, 1953, to Gerald and Nancy Hipp. She was a graduate of West Holmes High School, Ohio State University, Ohio University, and University of Miami (Florida). Mary traveled extensively including Germany, Saudi Arabia and China as an English as a second language university teacher. Returning to Holmes County she was a teacher at numerous area schools as well as a librarian for the Holmes County Library System. After retirement, Mary enjoyed traveling with her children and friends.

Mary had a strong faith and attended Millersburg Mennonite Church and Martin's Creek Mennonite Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of many friends. Her volunteer work included Love Inc.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Hipp of Millersburg and her son, John Hipp of South Bend, Indiana; her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Randall Hummel of Millersburg; her sister, Charlotte Morrison of Worthington, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Sue Hipp of Millersburg. Nieces and nephews include: Ben, Don and Tom Hipp, Melissa Martin, Allison Walters, Larisa Self, Benjamin and Joseph Morrison; and their families.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Hipp.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date for family and close friends. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home in Millersburg.
