Mary Jane Fair

Mary Jane Fair, age 86, of Walnut Creek, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 31, 2023, at Walnut Hills Nursing Home.

She was born March 19, 1937, in Millersburg, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herbert and Pearl (McCaughey) Clark. She married James Robert Fair, DDS, on April 13, 1958, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church. They together raised four daughters, Sharon Proper of Fredericktown, Ohio, Beverly Fair of Columbus, Ohio, Nancy Fair of San Diego, California, and Linda (Mike) Lee of Westerville, Ohio.

Mary Jane was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed assisting her late husband in his dental practice, volunteering as a Treasurer at the United Methodist Church, was a former Girl Scout Leader, and for many years worked with the Joel Pomerene Hospital Auxiliary. She truly enjoyed being a grandma and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, ten brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Surviving sisters-in-law include Esther Cleckner of Hampton, Virginia, Lois Clark of Berlin, Pat Clark, and Heidi Clark, both of Millersburg.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg , Ohio with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Millersburg United Methodist Church, Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, or to a charity of your choice.
