Marva Jean Landon, age 88, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Killbuck United Methodist Church, Killbuck, Ohio with pastor Kenneth Smailes officiating. Burial will take place at Killbuck Cemetery. Marva was born September 23, 1930 to Charles and Pearl (Garver) Hoops. She married Graydon Landon on August 14, 1949 and he passed away December 23, 1998.
Marva was a 1948 graduate of Killbuck High School, where she was a cheerleader for four years.
Marva was a member of a Killbuck United Methodist Church, where she was baptized as a child and attended all her life. She was also a member of The Marvelous Marva Club, The Happy Bridge Club, Killbuck Bridge Club, Briar Hill Bridge Club, WSCS - Past President, Phi Sigma Gamma, Past President of the United Methodist Women's Group, Hoops Family Organization, and was a past board member of the American Heart Association. Marva did various volunteer work for the Red Cross, Killbuck Library and at her church. She liked to play games, cards and travel. She especially loved to have her grandchildren stay with her.
Surviving arer her children, son, Larry Landon of Killbuck and daughter, Sue Ann (Jeff) Crider of Killbuck; grandchildren, Lee (Jenny) Landon, Lance (Mollie) Landon, Michael Landon, Cody (Julia) Landon, Matthew (Jody) Smail and Megan (Trevor) Stocker; great-grandchildren, Cole and Gabe Landon, Mickayla Landon, Melanie Landon, Ellie Landon, Grady Landon, Addison and Ethan Stocker, and Madilyn Smail; nieces and nephews, Judy Geog, Kay and Tom McFarland, Wayne and Kaye Kinsey, Denver Hoops, Eric and Barb Barnhart, and Bill and Cindy McPheron; first cousin, Laura Roach; and special in-laws, Ruth Landon, Ronnie and Elaine Landon, Joann Landon, Katy Van Valien, Sue Landon, and Patty and Chuck Stoker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Lester, Harold and Paul Hoops and sisters, Eileen Kinsey and Maxine Barnhart.
