Marilyn Jean Rock, age 77, of big Prairie, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 13, 2024. 

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 19th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. There will be time set aside to share memories beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Marilyn was born February 7, 1947 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Wayne and Mabel (Stricker) Christopher. On June 6, 1965 she married Darel Rock and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2019. 

Marilyn was a 1965 graduate of West Holmes High School. She was a strong woman who loved God and her family deeply. She demonstrated that she was a child of God through her kind heart and through the support she gave to everyone around her. Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother to her children, grandchildren and  great grandchildren. She gave her heart to everyone around her.

She is survived by her four children: Susan (Chad) Gamertsfelder, Karen Starner, Tamara Scott (Adam Langley) and Forest Rock; her grandchildren: Michael (Malori) Snyder, Shawn (Jill) Johnson, Amber (Patrick) Boudreau, Colista Gamertsfelder (Matthew Montgomery), Drew (Amy) Starner, Darel (Rebecca) Starner, Steven Jenkins (Krystal Hines), Cory Jenkins and Austin (Danielle) Scott; great-Grandchildren: Boone, Storm, Remi and Brooks Johnson, Grayson Snyder, Harlie Boudreau, Sarah Morehead, LeAnna Starner and Magnolia Starner; her sister, Judith Hostettler (Michael Taylor); a brother-in-law, Howard Rock; and a sister-in-law, Misty Rock.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings: Mervin Christopher, Charlotte Harrington, Richard Christopher, Carol Hall, Claude Christopher and Peggy McAfee; and a grandson, Seth Starner.
