Marilyn Joan Brannon, age 80, of Wooster, Ohio and formerly of Holmes County passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.
A private family graveside service will take place at Nashville Cemetery with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. There will be no calling hours per Marilyn's request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Marilyn was born January 16, 1944 in Butte, Montana and was the daughter of Joseph B. Sr. and Mary (Blostic) Geffert. On June 1st, 1965 she married William Brannon and he preceded her in death on May 1st, 1983.
Marilyn was a 1961 graduate of Coventry High School in Akron. She graduated from Akron City School of Nursing in 1963 and in 1964 served in the US Army during Vietnam as an Army Nurse. She had a long extensive nursing career in area hospitals and nursing homes and retired from Walnut Hills Nursing Home. She had a strong faith in her Lord and savior, Jesus Christ and would encourage anyone she came in contact with in conversation to have a relationship with Jesus.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, music, needlework, gardening, cooking, and canning. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
She is survived by four children and their spouses: Joyce (Phil) Straits of Killbuck, Amy (Dana) Guthrie of Wooster, William Jr. (Belinda) Brannon of Millersburg, and Benjamin (Leona) Brannon of Millersburg; 17 grandchildren: Taylor (Jessica) Straits, Zach (Alexx) Straits, Gretchen (Mitch) Montgomery, Cody (Macie) Straits, Derek Straits (Ally), Josh (Kelly) Guthrie, Morgan (Derek) Reutter, Alyson Guthrie (Jeremy), Grace Guthrie, Samantha Brannon (Martin), Kyle Brannon, William III (Felicia) Brannon, Austin Brannon, Logan Brannon (Neil), Rebekah (Michael) Moran, Riley (Aaron) Cuckler, and Megan Brannon; 13 great grandchildren: Tatum Straits, Stella, Fiona and Camree Straits, Peyton Montgomery, Adelynn and Josie Guthrie, Harrison and Callahan Reutter, Chase Wolfe, Sophie Buren, Ashton Conrad, and Senna Moran; two sisters: Arlis (Frank) Skivolocke of Rexford, Montana and Jane Amabeli of Sebring, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; two brothers: Joseph, "Bernie" Geffert and David Geffert; a great grandson, Dallas Straits; and a nephew, Joseph "Joey" Amabeli.
