Margaret E. Longfellow

Margaret E. Longfellow, age 99, of Glenmont, Ohio passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at Greenridge Care Center, Millersburg, Ohio following a brief illness.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3rd at St. John's United Church of Christ in Glenmont with Rev. Joanna Lance officiating. Burial will take place in Mound View Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. 

Family suggest memorial contributions be made to The Salvation Army or to the Medina In-Care Hospice.

Margaret was born February 6, 1922 in Mount Vernon, Ohio and was the daughter of Roy and Lois (Nelden) Fletcher. She first married James W. Park and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1956. She later married Paul H. Longfellow on September 28, 1957 and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1985.

Margaret was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Glenmont. She was a homemaker. Margaret enjoyed sewing quilts, volunteering for the Red Cross and donated 10 gallons of blood. She was a passionate euchre player and was on the Holmes County Board of Elections.

She is survived by 6 children, James J. Park of Texas, Lois Morris of Glenmont, Steve L. (Connie) Park of Tennessee, Fred (Shirley) Park of Wooster, Michael J. (Josephine) Park of Glenmont and Jacqueline (Robert) Swartz of Glenmont; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren and one more on the way. 

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert, Paul and Charles; and two sisters, Pauline and Isabelle.
