Lura Faye Wilson

Lura Faye Wilson of Millersburg, Ohio passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021 at the age of 75. She was born December 5th, 1945 in Jamboree, Kentucky to James Madison and Hattie (Fields) Slone and was the youngest of 12 children. In 1972 she married Chester John Wilson who preceded her in death in 1978.

Lura retired from Owens-Brockway in Berlin. She enjoyed cooking biscuits and bacon gravy in her cast iron skillet, feeding birds, taking care of flowers shopping at thrift stores and playing with her cats. Lura loved FaceTiming her granddaughters and feeding her granddog too many treats.

She is survived by children, John (Jennifer) Wilson of Wooster and Kathy Wilson of Millersburg; twin granddaughters, Jocelyn and Justine Wilson; and her sister, Lola Mae Yoder of Millersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester; brothers, Jack, Everett, James, William, Halver and Howard Slone; and sisters, Easter Hurley, Liza McFadden, Shirley Myers and Sadie Butler.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor James Butler officiating. Burial will take place at Killbuck Cemetery. Friends may call 2 hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
