Luella M. Miller, 78, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 after a decline in her health at Ohio Eastern Star in Mount Vernon. She was born on March 29, 1947 to Warren Richard Hensel (Nellie Marie Hensel) and Mary Lucille Friend. She married John Benjamin Miller on June 20, 1965, later divorced in 1988. He survives.

Luella enjoyed spending time with her family and summer trips with her two sisters, Betty and Patty Hensel. She enjoyed watching her Soap Operas and game shows. Luella worked at Castle Nursing Home for 19 years, the Bird's Nest, Chalet in the Valley and later retired from Millersburg Eagles #2418 as a Bar Manager.

She is survived by her five children: Darryl (Cindy) Miller of Killbuck, Pamala (Richard) Snyder of Millersburg, Cheryl Miller of Mansfield, Lisa (Matt) McKelvey of Millersburg and Benji (Ashley) Miller of Danville. Luella had 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Betty Hensel of Glenmont, Theresa (Steve) Snow of Warsaw, June (Robert) Saverdra of Orange Park, Florida, Kenny Friend of Wooster, Gary (Sue) Hensel of Wooster, Mike (Linda) Hensel of Holmesville, Karen Butler of Lakeville, Patty Hensel of Creston, Steve Friend of Wooster, Mary Havran of Millersburg, and Duane Hensel of Wooster; many nieces and nephews and; and two sisters-in-law, Lucy Miller and Terri Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Kenny Holms, Jimmy Hensel and David Hensel; sisters: Rhonda Snyder, Martha Holms Kolbeck and Linda Hensel; a niece, Alyssa Ross; a nephew, Randy Casdorph; an infant great granddaughter, Nautika Lucien; and her fiancé, James Dean Hanna. 

We invite family and friends to celebrate Luella's life. Funeral services will be held at Alexander Funeral Home, 8612 State Route 39, Millersburg, Ohio at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. Burial will take place at Prairie Township Cemetery, County Highway 245, Holmesville, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th at the funeral home and also two hours prior to the service on Thursday.
