Lori Beth Spurgeon age 40, of Newark and formerly of Killbuck, Ohio, passed away January 3, 2024, surrounded by her family and best friend.

Celebration of Life services will be held 2pm Saturday January 6th at Alexander Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Lori was born June 13, 1983, in Millersburg, Ohio and was the daughter of Robert “Bob” and Doris (Arnholt) Spurgeon. After 16 years together on June 23, 2022, she married the love of her life Matt Parks, and he survives. Lori graduated from West Holmes High School. She worked as an account specialist at Bread Financials. Lori enjoyed supporting her family at sporting events, an occasional trip to the casino, Ft. Lauderdale Beach, hanging out with her friends and her favorite cat Millie.

Surviving in addition to her husband Matt are three children: Arianna Parks, Cory (Elena) Parks,  and Logan Spurgeon of the home; her parents Robert and Doris Spurgeon; sisters Jennifer (Ted) Thorpe and Amber (Ted) Spurgeon; nieces and nephews Bo Kandel , Madison (Tawnya) Kandel, Kody Kandel, and Natalie and Laney Thorpe; Grandmother Nancy Arnholt; mother in law Anita Parks; and brothers in law Aaron and Kenny (Michelle) Parks and her best friend Nikki Dalton.

Lori was preceded in death by her grandparents: Alfred and Hester Spurgeon and Jacob Arnholt, and her father-in-law Kenneth Parks.
