Lester L. Leckrone, age 86, of Loudonville, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 26th, 2026 at Altercare Majora Lane Nursing Home after a brief illness.
Lester was born in Killbuck, Ohio to Russell and Mary (Fry) Leckrone on January 13th, 1940. He graduated from Killbuck High School in 1958. On June 25th, 1983 he married Lynne (Hyatt) Buren and she survives.
Lester worked at the Loudonville Flxible Company for 39 years up until its closure in 1996. He also worked at Merillat and Continental Guard Service. He was involved in the Loudonville Youth Association coaching his boys in both Little League and Hot Stove Pony League. He was active in the Loudonville Cub Scouts being its leader for several years and the Loudonville Jaycees. Lester's favorite pastime was bowling and bowled for decades at Mohican Lanes in Loudonville and at Triway Lanes in Wooster. He also liked to play any card game and puzzle books, and he also loved watching Westerns.
He is survived by his wife Valerie "Lynne" Leckrone; two sons: Doug (Jeanne) Leckrone and Dave Leckrone; a stepdaughter, Jodi (Tony) Martin; a granddaughter, Danielle (Matt) Knoble all of Loudonville; and a step-grandson, Justin (Brandie) Martin of Millersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: William and Wilbur; a sister, Lavada; and a stepson, Eddie Buren.
Upon Lester's wishes he is to be cremated with graveside services being held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2nd at Killbuck Cemetery with pastor Rob Paterson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Loudonville Youth Association.
