Kathy Louise Immel Obituary
Kathy Louise Immel, age 70, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on July 6th, 2025, after a long illness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
Kathy worked at the Commercial and Savings Bank operations center for nearly three decades and was very dedicated to her role and made many great friends there over the course of 27 years, who all did much to help her when her condition worsened. Kathy enjoyed many things in life, cigarettes, coffee and country music were three particular favorites. She enjoyed the music of Alan Jackson, George Strait, Johnny Cash and so many others. She loved gardening and planting flowers, cooking, bird-watching and often fed the birds or the stray cats in the neighborhood, as she had a big heart for animals of all kinds. In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo and solitaire, and played them often, she also liked to read and work on her fairy garden. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and mini-golf. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart, going all-out for Christmas each year to make it special for them. Her home has always been bedecked with cardinals, flowers, butterflies, carousels and angels, all things that she loved. She was always known for her sense of humor, she loved to laugh, and perhaps at times for her [mild] stubbornness or her ability to cut through any B.S. She was selfless and sacrificed much and worked hard to raise her three children, but seldom had any complaints, though her children tried hard at worrying her.
She had many pets over the years, but foremost she loved her cat George and the dog she lost in 2018, Mikey, a schipperke. She loved animals of all kinds and hated to see them suffering and fed the abandoned, stray cats in her neighborhood three times per day, every day.
She is survived by her two sons, Zachary D. Immel [Millersburg] and Dustin C. Taylor [San Francisco, CA], her brothers, Keith Jackson, Scott Jackson, and Jack Jackson, all of Troy, OH, and her beloved grandchildren, Brennan, Ezra, Zoe, Jaxson, Salene and Serenity, along with her many nephews and nieces, along with the many great friends and coworkers she enjoyed the company of.
She is predeceased by her parents, Pauline J. Jackson and Ralph H. Jackson, of Troy, Ohio, her siblings Billy Jackson and Suzy Jackson, and her beloved daughter, Jessica N. Steinman, who passed away in 2023.
She was and is loved by all who took the time to get to know her and she will be dearly missed. Please keep her, her family and friends in your prayers.
In lieu of flowers, I would ask that donations be made in her name to Stay-A-While Cat Shelter in North Royalton, OH, or A Purrfect Start in Grove City, OH, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
