Karl Brion Arnold Obituary
Karl Brion Arnold born in Canton Ohio on March 31, 1955, to Robert and Vida Arnold peacefully passed away on March 24, 2025, at Pomerene Hospital after a short illness.
Brion attended Plain Local Schools, graduating from Glenwood high School in 1973 and went on to attend Kent State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. In high school he was active in the music program, singing in the a cappella choir and playing trumpet in the marching, concert, and jazz bands.
Brion continued his journalism career as an on-air personality for a local radio station, a news anchor at WJAN TV and was a partner in RKG Teleproductions.
Brion had a profound love for aviation, enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, skeet shooting and took great pride in caring for his lawn. While working at Felsted in Holmesville, Ohio Brion met and fell in love with the love of his life Joyce Arnold who survives. Joyce and Brion married on September 1, 2000. Together they made great dog sitters!
Brion shared a special bond with his lifelong friends Mike and Joanne Garaux who were always there to support him.
In addition to his wife, Brion is survived by his brother Barry (Chris) Arnold of Sherwood, Arkansas, his stepsons Bret (Faye) Mellor of Coshocton, Brian (Amy) Mellor of Millersburg, one grandson, four granddaughters, five great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces.
Brion will forever be remembered as a kind soul and a great friend.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at The Hall at Lake Buckhorn on Saturday March 29, 2025, at 5 pm with friends and family speaking at 7:00.
