Karelene Syvilla Croskey

Karelene Syvilla Croskey, age 84 of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Friday morning, August 9, 2019 at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, Ohio surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. Burial will be at Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck, Ohio. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Karelene was born March 2, 1935 in Brinkhaven, Ohio and was the daughter of Kenneth Edward and Weltha Mae (Proper) Singer. On May 27, 1952 she married G. Donovan Croskey, he survives. 
Karelene retired from Addressograph Multigraph of Holmesville, was a school bus driver and assistant for the Holmes County Training Center formerly known as Happy Hills, and also worked at Darb Snyder Senior Center in Millersburg. She was a member of Killbuck Valley Christian Church. Karelene volunteered at the senior center and also at Joel Pomerene Hospital. During her lifetime she belonged to the Sweet Adeline Choir, was a member of the Holmes County Grange, Holmes County Archery Club, Killbuck Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a Girl Scout leader, loved camping, traveling, crafting, Gospel music and collecting antiques. She was actively involved in her local church throughout her life and enjoyed giving back to her community.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Kathryn Sue Russell (Park) of Killbuck, Ohio, Cynthia Lou Ogden (Jeff) of St Louis, Missouri and Christy Lee Bowers (Bill) of Walhonding, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Strouse, Beverly Logston, Janice Baker and Sandy Huggins; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Croskey; brothers-in-law, Wilmer Strouse, James Logston, Robert Huggins and Arlie Croskey.
Karelene was a faith filled woman who loved the Lord and would want you to know that Jesus said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes and me, though he died, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die." John 11:25-26
