Julie Ziegman Hood

Julie Ziegman Hood, age 85 of Millersburg, Ohio passed away at home, Thursday, August 19, 2021. Julie born at home in Orrville, Ohio on November 9, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth (Flannery) Ziegman. Julie was the so dearly loved mother of Alan (Penny) Hood of New York State and Barbara Kahl of North Olmsted. She is survived by a brother, William Ziegman of Orrville, Ohio. Her husband Arch Hood preceded her in death as did her parents and three infant siblings. 
Julie has two dearly loved granddaughters, Megan Kahl and Alana Hood. She has two great grandchildren, Molly Mercado and Evan Griffith. Julie has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She is a 1953 graduate of Orrville High School and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Physical Therapy. Julie's career started at Akron City Hospital and she went on to open the Physical Therapy Department at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg. Julie worked for 40 years and then retired. She went on to volunteer at Pomerene Hospital and was on the Auxiliary Board for many years. Julie volunteered for Hospice of Holmes County earning Hospice Volunteer of the Year in 2002. She was part of a tutoring program at Millersburg Elementary School for several years. 
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Father Richard Samide officiating. Burial will take place at Welcome Cemetery.
