Joseph E. Holtzmann, 60, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away May 26, 2025, in Illinois, following injuries sustained in an accident in route home from a family reunion in St Louis, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday June 27, 2025, at the Holtzmann residence 11751 SR 39 Millersburg, Ohio, with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. This is an outside service, please feel free to bring a chair. Burial of ashes will follow at Welcome Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Welcome Church of Christ 4895 Township Rd 257, Millersburg, Ohio 44654.

Joe was born July 31, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri and was the son of Roger (Paulette) Holtzmann and Penny Vogt Holtzmann. On August 12, 1983, he married Cassandra Glass, and she survives. He was a member of the Welcome Church of Christ. Joe was a woodworker and carpenter; he built a legacy with his hands and heart. He enjoyed walks, nature, preservation, and fishing. He could fix anything and was a problem solver. Joe had an unwavering love for his wife and best friend Cassandra; his daughters were the apple of his eye. He loved encouraging and celebrating milestones with his granddaughter. Joe was a strong friend to many.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 41 years Cassandra, are his daughter Melissa (Don) Pierce; granddaughter Lisa Pierce; his father Roger (Paulette) Holtzmann; his mother Penny Holtzmann; brother Wayne (Christine) Holtzmann; sister Gail (Ed) L’Hote; stepsister Jennifer Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Emily Holtzmann and his in-laws Buz and Carol Glass.
