John A. Simpson, age 70, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at his home with his wife at his side, following a short battle with cancer.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare. 

John was born August 7, 1953 in Mansfield, Ohio and was the son of John Simpson and Jean Frazee. On August 30, 1975 he married Cathy A. Patterson and she survives. 

John served in the US Navy and retired from the Millersburg Walmart. He loved playing the guitar, going fishing, mini golf and spending time with his family. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, Cathy is his daughter, Lisa Simpson (Joseph Hoxworth) of Millersburg; four grandchildren: Cameron (Courtney) St. Clair of Creston, Cayla (Clay) Martin of Killbuck, Cody (Bree) Chaney of Millersburg and Tyler Chaney of Orrville; four great-grandchildren Aubrielle, Mason, Juliana and Aurora; his sister, Lois (Gary) Kent of Loudonville; sister-In-Law, Sandy Weiland of Millersburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special cousins from Kentucky, Judy and June.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Dave Frazee; his son, Johnny Simpson Jr.; his brother, Alvin Simpson; and two nephews: Randy Carder and Jody Patterson.
