John Landon Shafer, age 87, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Friday, January 19th, 2024 at Westview Healthy Living, Wooster, Ohio following an extended illness.

There will be no services held at this time. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691. 

John was born March 8th, 1936 in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of John Maxwell and Madalyn Eileen (Landon) Shafer. On August 27th, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Starner and she survives. 

John worked at The Timken company for 36 years. He was a dog lover, an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan, enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved woodworking. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children and their spouses: Jenifer (Jim) Gordon of Wooster, Ohio, Jeff (Sheryl) Shafer of Wooster, Ohio and Joel (Denise) Shafer of Burbank, Ohio; six grandchildren: Emily (Chris) Stapel, Sarah (Bryon) Cerklefskie, Nathan Green (fiancee, Ashley Ellis), Josh (Cierra) Shafer, Jeremy (Jason) Pratt and Courtney (Kyle) Rickett; and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Karen (Bill) Parker of Michigan. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
