James Edward Rock, age 74, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, Ohio following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, December 10th at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Rev. Paula Koch officiating. Burial will take place 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio where military rites will be conducted. James was born June 18, 1946 in Wooster, Ohio and was the son of Forest and Kathryn (Landes) Rock. On September 20, 1969 he married Marilyn (VanSickle) Rock and she survives.
James was a 1964 graduate of Wooster High School and a 1971 graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics. He had a lifelong career in Aviation. He was a member of the Millersburg United Methodist Church. James was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He was a member of the American Legion and was a past volunteer for Holmes County Habitat and Love Out Loud. His biggest Joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved watching them in sports, band, and taking them out to eat.
Surviving an addition to his wife Marilyn are two children and their spouses, Wendy (Jeff) Miller of Millersburg, Ohio and Douglas (Maria) Rock of VanDalia, Ohio; grandchildren, Serena Miller, Collin Miller and Tyler Rock; a brother, Howard Rock of Zanesville, Ohio; and a sister, Carol Taylor of Charlotte, North Carolina.
The family would like to thank Dr. Latouf and the staff at Sycamore Run for their compassionate care during this time.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and four brothers, Richard, Raymond, Clayton and Darel Rock.
