James J. Long, age 74, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 28, 2021 following a period of declining health.

James was born April 25, 1946 and Massillon, Ohio and was the son of Joseph D. and Helen (Cothern) Long. He married Betty Briceland, and she survives.
James was a life-long mechanic. His career throughout the years always revolved around motorcycles. He was well known by many for his expertise in motorcycle repair and restoration, especially of Harley-Davidson cycles. He was the owner and operator of Discount Cycle Supply.
Jim enjoyed playing the upright Bass in several Blue Grass bands throughout the Ohio Valley region. In recent years, his favorite hobbies were tinkering with antique cars and playing euchre. He was pleasantly surprised when his Chevy took 1st Place at the 2016 Holmes County Antique Festival Car Show. He was a member of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America and also the Ohio Farm Bureau.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and companion of 43 years, Betty Long; his stepmother, Rosemary Long of Massillon, Ohio; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews on both sides of the family whom all contributed in their own loving way from near or from afar. He is also survived by the prettiest dog in the world, Abby Jo.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jo Ann Gravley; half-brother, Larry Roberts; and a nephew, Jay Ward.
