James Barnhart, 79, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away peacefully July 27, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Friday August 1st at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday.

Jim was born on December 17, 1945, in Millersburg, Ohio to Olus and Margaret “Nanny” (Hoffman) Barnhart. He married Margaret L Galford on January 24, 1964, and together they raised their daughter Tammy. He spent most of his life in the car business, from selling cars in his younger years to owning Jim Barnhart’s Auto Body for over 40 years. He found joy in restoring antique cars, he brought so many back to life.

He is survived by his wife Margaret; daughter Tammy (Barnhart) Hundley; grandchildren Talisha Hundley and Jordan Hundley; four great grandchildren Zeke Miller, Zion Miller, Octavia Hundley, and Remington Armstrong.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Barnhart.

Jim’s memory, his humor, and generous spirit will be forever missed.
