James Angle Obituary

James Albert Angle was called home by God on March 18, 2023. He was born October 31, 1944 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia inside a coal miners cabin.

Jim was one of sixteen children. He was the first in family history to graduate high school. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree.

James was a proud Army veteran with many accommodations for his acts of valor and for numerous injuries sustained in the Vietnam war. He met the love of his life, Barbara Mae Koffroth while recovering from those injuries at Valley Forge Hospital. They married on December 28, 1968 and raised three sons, which all dearly cherished their father.

James accomplished much through many careers, teaching he enjoyed most of all. He also had a fervor to coach baseball and lead his teams to many championships. Above all else, Jim loved his grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons: Thomas (Julie) Angle, Douglas Angle and Ryan (Rachelle) Angle; grandchildren: Autumn Williamson, Jordan Angle, Waylon Angle and Cash Angle; brothers and sisters: Dana Hawkins, Margie DePriest, Verlie (Raymond) Eyler, Bobby Ray (Lucy) Angle, Robert (Anne) Angle, Melvin Angle and Raymond (Joyce) Angle; sister-in-law, Lynn Angle; and brother-in-law, Barry (Glenda) Koffroth.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clonnie and Anna Angle; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Elsie Koffroth; siblings: Herman Angle, Nellie Bonner, Virginia (Roger) Shamp and Cecil Angle; and the one he missed most of all, his grandson, Walker Angle.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the LifeCare Hospice staff along with Bobby Ray, Lucy and Augustine for all their loving care and support.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23rd at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the US Army.
