Harvey M. "Mel" Yoder, age 87, of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Community Hospice Truman House, New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Mel was born January 23, 1938 in Wayne County Ohio and was the son of Harvey Sylvester Yoder and Lola Jones. He married Arlene Kandel and she survives. 

 

Mel worked 30+ years for Crown Steel in Wooster. He liked sports, he played baseball on local church teams, he enjoyed eating out, and loved vacations in the South. 

 

Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepchildren; a granddaughter, Kayla Bechtol; two great-grandsons; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and all his siblings.

 

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Truman House, for the love, care and support that was given. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice in memory of Mel.
