George Proper Obituary

George Charles Proper, age 91, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio.

A private family service will be determined at a later date.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.

George was born February 22, 1931 in Walhonding, Ohio and was the son of Howard and Audrey Proper. He married Betty Gooding and she preceded him in death.

George was a veteran of the Korean War serving in both the US Air Force and the US Army. He worked many years for Gerstenslager in Wooster until his retirement. George was a member of the Killbuck VFW. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and mushroom hunting.

He is survived by four children: Jackie Patterson of Millersburg, Steven Proper (Katie West) of Lebanon, Ohio, Mark (Lucinda Miller) Proper of Killbuck and Lance (Kathy) Proper of Killbuck; four grandchildren: Joshua (Brandie Lint) Proper of Killbuck, Krystie Proper of Killbuck, Angie (Steve) Price of Millersburg and Lora Patterson of Mount Vernon; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and his brothers Pete and Jimmy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Virgil, Alice, Olive and Sylvia.
