George Donovan Croskey, age 89, of Killbuck, Ohio went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home following complications from the COVID-19 virus.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 23rd, at Killbuck Cemetery with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. Military rights will be conducted by the Killbuck VFW. Rules of social distancing will apply and masks are required.

Don was born November 8, 1931 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of George Delford and Ruth Winifred (Rang) Croskey. On May 27, 1952 he married Karelene S. Singer and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2019.

After active duty service in the US Marine Corps, with honorable discharge in 1954, Don retired from 43 years of service, as Quality Control Manager for Rice Chadwick of Killbuck in 1997. Prior to the Marine Corps, he worked at Nicholl Stone Company of Killbuck. After retirement, he worked part-time for Village Motors of Millersburg. He was very active in the community and actively involved in his local church as a Deacon and Elder throughout his life. He was an avid history buff and was active in the Holmes County Genealogical Society and contributed photographs and stories in the publishing of the "Holmes County History Book." He was an avid photographer, genealogist, fisherman, hunter, traveler, camper, Native American arrowhead/artifact hunter and collector. He was active with the Killbuck Volunteer Fire Department, VFW, Clark Grange, Rotary Club, Holmes County Golden Archery Club and many more passions and hobbies. He was a proud Marine and loved his God, family and country.
He is survived by daughters, Kathryn Sue Russell (Park) of Killbuck, Ohio, Cynthia Lou Ogden (Jeffrey) of St Louis, Missouri and Christy Lee Bowers (Bill) of Walhonding, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, with another due in May 2021. He is also survived by brothers, James Henry Croskey (Joyce) and Stanley Bruce Croskey (Cynthia) both of Millersburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karelene S. Croskey; brother, Arlie Croskey; brothers-in-law, Wilmer Strouse, James Logsten and Robert Huggins; and sisters-in-law, Mary Strouse, Beverly Logsten, Sandra Huggins and Mary Jane Croskey.
Don was a faith filled man who would want you to know that Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." John 11:25-26a.
