Gene Richard Rockwell, age 72 of Millersburg, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. 

A Celebration of Life gathering of family and friends will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, December 22nd, at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.

Gene was born May 7, 1953 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and was the son of Robert Charles and Mary C. (Robatin) Rockwell. On May 22, 1982, he married Kathy Holcomb and she survives.

Gene worked for Seaway Bolt and Specials Corp., retiring after 30 plus years. He volunteered at The Church of God food pantry and enjoyed his monthly McDonald's trips for the kids at the Holmes County Training Center. Gene loved gambling and was an avid slot machine player. 

Surviving in addition to his wife, Kathy are children and their spouses: Mary Bywater (Brian), Gina Tompkins (Steve), and Tim Holcomb (Stacey); grandchildren: Christopher Holcomb, Tim Hendershot, Alyssa Bywater, Elizabeth Holcomb, Hanna Holcomb, Makalya Holcomb and Abigail Starkey; two great-grandchildren: Richard and Scarlette Starkey; two brothers: Edwin Rockwell and Edward Rockwell; and a brother-in-law, Jim Gibson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Betty Darlene Robatin, Sandra Gibson, and Judy Rockwell; brothers: Andrew Robatin, Ernest West and William Rockwell; and a grandson, Timothy Holcomb Jr.
