Gary Lee Reed

Gary Lee Reed, age 74, of Holmesville, Ohio passed away late Friday night, September 22, 2023 at Walnut Hills Assisted Living after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Gary was born in Millersburg, Ohio on December 3, 1948 to Robert Dennis Reed and Verda (McGovern) Reed. Gary was a 1967 graduate of Waynedale High School. He continued his education at Wilmington College. He chose a career as a truck driver and spent the last 25+ years working for Melway Paving where he had many close friends.

Gary loved golfing with friends, watching Ohio sports teams, playing cards with friends, and just talking about anything at the old Holmesville Inn. Gary was a member of the Melvin McClure American Legion of Holmesville.

Gary is survived by a sister, Connie Lu Reed of Wooster, Ohio; a brother, Robert Dennis Reed Jr. of Holmesville, Ohio; nieces and nephews: Robert Dennis Reed III, Angie (Mike) Buzzard, Samantha (Jason) Weber and Megan Morris; great nieces and great nephews: Brynlee Reed, Macie (Landon) Hall, Brooklyn Buzzard, Tessa Buzzard, Kellen Buzzard, Jasi Weber and Laini Weber.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Reed Morris.

Alexander Funeral Home has completed Gary's cremation and according to his wishes there will be no funeral or calling hours. There will be a Celebration of Life service, at a later date to be determined.
