Francis Marie (Butts) Smith, age 92 1/2 of Millersburg, Ohio died Tuesday, August 8th 2023 at Pomerene Hospital with sons and special family member Vanessa Tope at her side. She was born December 23, 1930 in Danville, Ohio and was the daughter of Purcell and Rosena Butts. She married Kenneth A. Smith on May 25, 1957. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and four brothers. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Marie to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691 or to Pomerene Health Foundation, ER Staff, Med Surg staff (981 Wooster Road, Millersburg, Ohio 44654) for making her last days comfortable.

Marie was a very active member in St. Peter’s Catholic Church with many different events. She was a Pillar of the Church and was a Role Model to numerous women at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Marie was a X-Ray Technician and a home maker after her last son was born. She enjoyed making bread and pies and having her lady friends over for conversations.

Surviving are her three sons: K. Gregory Smith (Lynda L. Snyder) of Big Prairie, Jeff Smith of Dublin and Doug Smith of the home.

The family ESPECIALLY would like to Thank the ER Staff and the Third Floor Staff of Pomerene Hospital, and LifeCare staff for all they did to make our Mother Comfortable.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 16th at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, Ohio with Father Homer Blubaugh officiating. Following the service, there will be a meal provided at St. Peter's Catholic Community Center.
