Fern C. Sowers

Fern C. Sowers, age 88 of Glenmont, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital, Wooster, Ohio.
Graveside services with viewing will take place 11 a.m. Friday at Sunnyside Cemetery, Glenmont, Ohio with Pastor Rick Snyder officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Fern was born March 17, 1932 in Holmes County Ohio and was the daughter of Jesse Roy and Rita Eilene (Jones) Manchester. On April 8, 1966 she married Timothy Wayne Sowers and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1987.
Fern was a graduate of Glenmont High School and a graduate of the Wayne County School of Cosmetology. She retired from Rubbermaid of Wooster and later retired from Rice Chadwick Rubber Company in Killbuck all while working her own business, Seven Hills Beauty Salon. Fern did hair at all of the local nursing homes. She was a candy striper, a volunteer for hospice and a home health care assistant. Fern was a member of the Church of Christ. She was on the Glenmont Homecoming committee, helped with the Glenmont Alumni Banquet, was a Glenmont Village Council member, and was a past member of the Seven Hills Garden Club. Fern was open-hearted and loved to give. Her house was always open to anyone in need. She loved spending time with her family, wanting everyone to always get along. Fern enjoyed hearing and sharing the word of God and she loved fellowship with the Lord.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Michael (Lisa) Bretz of Shreve, Cathy (Dennis) Kaser of Millersburg, David (Jamie) Sowers of Brinkhaven, and Timothy (Kim) Sowers II of Bristolville; 11 grandchildren, Cynthia (Brian) Willis, Jennifer (Chris) Willis, Jennifer Mizer, Jacquelin (Jason) Ullom, Derrick Kaser, Miranda Sowers, David R. Sowers, Timothy (Tara) Sowers III, Corinthia (Craig) Yoder, Isaiah Sowers and Hebreonna Sowers; great-grandchildren, Bret, Daniel, Alyssa, Justin, Jasmine, Jozlynn, Janae, Weston, Lochlan, Amari, Micha, Jacoby, Remington, Timothy IV, Lilah, Helayna, Gabriel, Brayden and Christian who is due to make an appearance in the next few weeks; a sister, Marilyn Buren of Florida; niece, Tamie FitzGerald of Florida; many special friends including anyone that ever made a sandwich at her house.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, Brad Kaser.
