Ernie Jarvis, age 74, of Killbuck, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 22nd, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.

A private graveside service will take place at Killbuck Cemetery with Pastor Jim Jamison officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the NRA.

Ernie was born August 5th, 1949, in Coshocton County and was the son of Paul E. and Sylvia (Fowler) Jarvis. He graduated from Douglas High School in Roseburg, Oregon, when he was 16 years old. On September 15th, 1968, he married Peggy Renfrew.

Ernie worked most of his life at Rice-Chadwick Rubber Company in Killbuck. He was a member of the NRA. Ernie enjoyed fishing, shooting, mushroom hunting, going to casinos, and he loved fixing and building railroad watches.

Surviving in addition to his wife Peggy of 55 years are three children; Bobbi (Rusty) Hawkins of Stillwell, Inez (Kenny) Strouse of Glenmont, Chad (Ruthie) Jarvis of Killbuck: 7 grandchildren; Jaci Pierce, Kylie Hawkins (Brad), Tiff (Travis) Weber, Keshia (John) Singleton, Kayla (Adam) Forrer, Schiane Jarvis, Daren (Sara) Jarvis: 13 great grandchildren; Camdyn and Coidyn Beachy, Paislee Feister, Lincoln Beckelhimer, Maddox and Sloane Weber, Beckett and Reese Singleton, Ben, Keni and Kaci Forrer, Bobby Blake and Lunar Jarvis: his brother, Hedge (Nancy) Jarvis of Oregon: many nieces and nephews: and dear friends, Bob and Doris Spurgeon.

He was preceded in death by his parents: sister, Inez Shlief: two brothers; Lanty Jarvis and Paul W. Jarvis: two granddaughters; LeeAnn Mullins and Briana Pierce: and a great grandson, Cannon Weber.
