Eric P. Smeby

Eric P. Smeby, age 72, of Mount Vernon, Ohio and formerly of Millersburg, Ohio passed away at his home, peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Eric was born August 1, 1951 in Madison, Wisconsin and was the son of Robert Rudolph and Patricia Ruth (Dowling) Smeby. He was a mechanical engineer at Robin Industries for 24 years. Eric was an excellent drummer and was a member of the Musician's Union. He was also a member of the Millersburg Eagles #2418. He loved watching the Cleveland Indians, barbecuing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children: daughter, Jessica (Tony) Klepatzki of Howard, Ohio and sons, Dylan Smeby of Wooster, Ohio and Paul Skorick of Springfield, MO; 10 grandchildren: Dominyk, Daymion, Autumn, Adrian, Alexzea, Alexander, Anna, Justine, Colin, and Dawn; his mother, Patricia Smeby of Painesville, Ohio; and three brothers: Patrick Smeby, Alec (Jackie) Smeby and Darrick (Jennifer) Smeby.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Robert Smeby; his son, Christopher Smeby; and a grandson, AJ Smeby.
