Eric "Basketball" Dwight Barnhart, age 66, of Holmes County, Ohio passed away Tuesday morning, March 7th, 2023 at Akron General Hospital following a short illness.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio. A private family graveside service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg. Those wishing to share a memory or make online condolences may do so by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com. 

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Eric was born May 4th, 1956 in Millersburg, Ohio and was the son of Dwight and Maxine (Hoops) Barnhart. He married Barb Haudenschild, and she survives.

Eric retired from Briar Hill Stone Company. He attended the Killbuck United Methodist Church. Eric enjoyed carpentry work.

Surviving an addition to his wife, Barb is his son, Dave (Wilma) Nelson of Wooster; a granddaughter, Whitney Nelson (fiance, Zac Campbell) of Wooster; his sister, Cindy (Bill) Barnhart - McPherson of Wooster; four nieces; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cheryl Scott.
